How the scheduling works

I missed a workout. What happens?

Takt asks whether you trained, either in the evening check-in or when you next open the app. Choose Shift my plan and the whole sequence slides forward — the missed session moves to your next day, everything behind it follows, and the day you skipped becomes rest. Your calendar updates to match. Choose Just skip it and the plan stays as it was.

Why did my leg day move on its own?

Because you logged a run on or next to it. Training legs hard the day before or after a run compromises both, so Takt offers to separate them. By default it asks first. You can set it to move automatically, or never move anything, in Profile → Runs & Recovery.

Which running apps work?

Any app that saves runs to Apple Health — Apple Fitness, Apple Watch, Runna, Strava, Nike Run Club — plus runs you log in Takt itself. There's nothing to connect beyond granting Health access once.

What does "Busy" on a workout mean?

Your calendar already has several hours committed that day. Takt also uses this when rescheduling, so it avoids dropping a session onto a day you've spoken for.

Weights and progression

Where do the suggested weights come from?

Your own history. Hit every rep at the target last time and the weight goes up. Miss some and you repeat it. Stall three sessions at the same weight and Takt drops it about 10% so you can build back. Increments follow the movement — 10 lb on heavy barbell lifts, 5 lb on most else.

Can I ignore the suggestion?

Always. It's a starting point, pre-filled so you don't retype numbers. Change anything before you log it.

Editing workouts

How do I add or remove an exercise?

Tap the pencil beside the workout title. Tap an exercise to swap it, swipe left to remove it, or use Add Exercise. On save you choose whether the change applies to just that workout or every future day of that type.

I changed one day by mistake.

Open that workout's edit screen and tap Reset to Plan. It only appears on days carrying one-off changes.

Troubleshooting

Runs aren't being detected

Calendar events aren't appearing

Reminders aren't arriving

Check Settings → Notifications → Takt, then Profile → Reminders & Planning. Reminders follow your active plan, so a plan in logger mode won't produce any.

I want my data somewhere safe

Profile → Backup → Create Backup exports everything as a single file you can save or send anywhere. Restore from Backup brings it back. Worth doing before you change phones.

Privacy

Takt collects nothing. Your training data stays on your device or in your own iCloud, and Health data never leaves the device. Full detail in the privacy policy.
